Throughout the latter half of 2016, the QUT Big Lift team worked on building their relationships with communities in the North Burnett and Banana Shire regions of Queensland and began to prepare taking forty students on the road again.

The result was an unforgettable, challenging and at times grueling nine days of 50 degree heat and learning the tough stuff about what impacts communities - drought, cultural divide, long-term colonial destruction.

Plus, strengthened relationships with our community partners and a store of memories. Thank you to the communities of Cherbourg, Murgon, Eidsvold, Baralaba, Wowan, Agnes Water and Bundaberg for having us and welcoming us to your home.
